International Healthcare IT Marketplace Offers UK SMEs Future Growth Opportunities
New research to help UK small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) take advantage of international healthcare IT business opportunities is being launched today by Intellect.
The report provides in-depth analysis of three promising healthcare IT markets: Australia, Canada and Germany. It explains the competitive and technological environment in each country, providing UK SMEs with the vital information they require in order to competitively expand their international business.
Mike O'Brien, Minister of State for Trade, Investment and Foreign Affairs said: "The UK healthcare IT sector is well placed to export its skills, experience and knowledge to these countries. UK Trade & Investment through its Software & Computer Services team is developing a strategy to advise companies on the best and most appropriate choice of overseas partners, provide events to network with key decision makers and highlight opportunities to those firms who can capitalize on them."
Commenting, John Higgins, Intellect Director General said: "The UK Healthcare IT sector has changed dramatically, and will continue to evolve, leaving many SMEs with some difficult times ahead. Intellect wants to ensure that UK Healthcare IT SMEs are able to make informed strategic business decisions about entering new markets and have all the support they need. This research is an excellent start and will see UK skills, knowledge and products continue to be exported internationally."
Intellect and UK Trade & Investment will work together to provide UK companies with the support they need to identify international healthcare IT business opportunities. Activities already scheduled include an overseas business visit to the Health Informatics Conference in Brisbane 25-27 July 2004 and Medica, an exhibition to be held in Germany 24-27 November 2004.
The study is available to all UK companies interested in taking advantage of these international markets. To access a copy of this report Intellect members can go to: www.intellectuk.org/publications, non-members should visit www.internationalgrowth.org
