Information Overload - Intellect launches Document Management User Guide to Help Businesses Fight Back

Intellect has today launched a Document Management User Guide designed to help businesses to understand rapidly changing document management requirements, and enable decision makers to make long term and informed purchasing decisions.

This comes as British businesses face ever increasing pressures from new regulation, and are asked for more in-depth reporting information year on year. In addition, as the Public Sector faces immense challenges as it works intensely towards e-Service Delivery and implementing the relevant parts of the Freedom of Information Act. Now more than ever the question is not only how do I find and track it, but also how do I report it in an efficient manner?
The Guide has been designed to raise awareness of what best practice Document Management can achieve, by profiling the path of a document as it flows through an organisation, the key processes it undergoes and the important considerations that business decision makers need to examine.

Its aim is to help end users to recognise where they fit in the Document Management cycle, both in terms of the functions they carry out, and how it impacts on other areas of their activities. Its goal is to facilitate long-term and informed purchasing decisions. Ultimately it is designed to help customers to stop buying 'in isolation' and move towards an end-to-end solution.

Richard Martin, Intellect's Head of Document Management said, "The amount of information in the world has tripled over the last four years. Because of this Document Management is no longer simply about choosing the fastest printer or scanner. Businesses now need sophisticated systems to enable them to use and report on the information they hold in the most effective and efficient manner."

"The Document Management User Guide has been designed to enable businesses to gain the full benefits of a Document Management System, and to help end-users to understand the business process changes required if they are to be able to take advantage of the technology on offer and ultimately avoid being swamped under an information deluge."
