Intellect Defence and Security runs nine groups ranging from battlespace, cyber security, to security and resilience
Intellect’s Defence and Security work is organised functionally around Groups and Councils. The Defence and Security Groups and Councils are open to all members of Intellect.
Our Defence and Security Groups and Councils, include information relating to each group/council’s charter, calendar of events, meeting reviews, and other relevant defence and security documents.
The BSC develops industrial policy contributions and papers in the joint NEC (Network Enabled Capability) and C4ISTAR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition, and Reconnaissance) sectors, where technology and industrial innovation delivers critical operational benefits to UK forces in Afghanistan.
Intellect’s Cyber Security Group has been formed to provide a coherent voice for industry working in “high threat” areas - including defence, national security and resilience, the protection of critical national infrastructure, intelligence, and organised crime. The group provides a channel for government, industry, and the wider stakeholder community to discuss policy, strategy, and implementation issues.
Intellect’s Defence and Security Commercial Council offers a technology sector view on the defence and security markets' unique contractual and legal challenges. The Council aims to ensure awareness of current customer thinking and assist the government in formulating improved contracting approaches within the technology environment.
The Defence Information Systems Council provides a forum for Intellect’s Defence & Security members to engage with MoD stakeholders with a view to exploring how industry can support the delivery of information systems. The council holds regular engagement sessions with key Ministry of Defence customers and offers an industrial perspective on their key challenges. The Defence Information Systems Council will be focusing on information management and assurance in MoD over the coming year.
The Defence Research and Technology Council advises government and other stakeholders involved in the planning, funding, and conduct of research and technology.
The International Defence and Security Council was set up in 2008 to help member companies understand and exploit the impacts of the globalising defence & security markets.
The JESICA Group was established to represent members operating in the criminal justice and emergency services market. This Group tackles a number of issues, including, homeland security and information sharing across the sector. The group aims to build strong relationships between the supplier community and the sector.
The S&R Group's work includes thought leadership, policy consultation, market/business development, and building strong relationships between the technology industry and key policymakers, customers, and end users across the many sectors and markets involved in security and resilience.
