Chair Stephen Kingan CEO Nexor
Nexor is a global provider of high-grade security technologies and services. The company is widely recognised for its expertise and in-depth domain knowledge, accrued over 15 years of supplying communication systems to large enterprises. Today, Nexor specialises in information assurance and communication solutions for the global defence and critical national infrastructure markets.
Steve was admitted as a Chartered Director by the Institute of Directors in 2000; and has subsequently become a member of the IoD’s Professional Standards Review group. He is a member of the Investors in People (UK) board, and is also vice-chair of the Intellect Software Group and a member of the national Security and Resiliance Industry Council (RISC).
Happily married with two daughters and a son, in his spare time Steve enjoys flying as a private pilot, qualified on both helicopters and fixed wing aircraft.
Vice chair James Sibbald Business Development Manager Defence & National Security ESRI (UK) Limited
ESRI (UK) is part of the global ESRI network. With the single, largest pool of GIS expertise in the UK, the company is the technical authority on GIS. ESRI (UK) provides solutions, technology and services including off the shelf applications built on the ArcGIS software suite and an extensive range of consulting and training services.
Jim joined ESRI (UK) in 2003 after a career in the Royal Regiment of Artillery. Throughout his military service he served in various operational theatres including as Civil Affairs Officer with the United Nations in Cyprus. He has been a Fellow of the Institute of Directors since 1996. In addition to being Vice Chair, Jim is on the Intellect Membership Committee and is a founder member of the UK Security and Resilience Industry Suppliers Council (RISC).
In his spare time Jim is a Town Councillor and Chairman of his local Royal British Legion Branch. He is happily married to Christina.
Focus of the Security and Resilience Group
- facilitate industry's contribution to policy through dialogue with stakeholders, including responses to consultation
- develop the market's knowledge of sector developments through a programme of speaker led meetings with figures from Government and beyond
- utilise industry's experience and expertise to help policymakers address threats and hazards
- raise awareness of the technology industry's role as a critical stakeholder in national security & resilience
- assist suppliers in showcasing innovation and ensuring visibility across the supply chain
- encourage networking and collaboration between members

- Facilitating industry-government information-sharing
- Assisting government in understanding the implications of the fragmentation of the UK security market
- Enhancing collaboration of security & resilience stakeholders
