Intellect’s Cyber Security group has been formed to provide a coherent voice for industry working in “high threat” areas - including defence, national security and resilience, the protection of critical national infrastructure, intelligence and organised crime. The group provides a channel for government, industry and the wider stakeholder community to discuss policy, strategy and implementation issues.

Focus of the Cyber Security Group
The group, which represents around 50 technology companies, works alongside and in partnership with Intellect’s wider Information Assurance programmes, which focus on broad public and private sector information sharing, assurance, security and handling. The group will regularly liaise with the Information Security Assurance Board to coordinate their work.
Objectives of the Cyber Security Group
To streamline and communicate industry’s position through:
- facilitating industry's contribution to policy through dialogue with stakeholders, including responses to consultations and strategies
- providing awareness of developments within the government agenda
- championing industry views on the cyber security market, ensuring that consideration of future strategy reflects industry’s capacity, requirements and capability
- encouraging networking and collaboration between members, and providing links with wider stakeholder community to share knowledge and best practice
- producing independent market analysis to underpin the benefits of investment – both as a supplier of capability and as a consumer of services – in cyber security
