Intellect Annual Dinner 2011
Wednesday 11 May 2011, The Dorchester, Park Lane, London, W1K 1QA
|
The Intellect Annual Dinner is now established as the main dinner event in the Intellect calendar. The first dinner was held in 2002 at the Intercontinental Hotel when Intellect was launched. Now the event, held at The Dorchester, achieves sell-out status with over 400 guests attending.
Each year Intellect invites a well known and controversial speaker to provide the key address. In 2011 we were delighted to welcome Matthew Parris.
Who spoke?
Matthew Parris joined The Times as parliamentary sketchwriter in 1988, a role he held until 2001. He had formerly worked for the Foreign Office and been a Conservative MP from 1979-86. He has published many books on travel and politics and an autobiography, Chance Witness. In 2005 he won the Orwell Prize for Journalism. His diary appears in The Times on Thursdays and his opinion column on Saturdays.
