Fully Booked Intellect JESICA Reception
Tuesday 29 November 2011, The Royal Society, SW1
|
The changing landscape of policing - the Coalition Government has an ambitious reform programme including the election of Police and Crime Commissioners and the creation of a National Crime Agency. Sir Hugh Orde will provide his perspective on this significant upheaval.
What's being talked about?
When the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Bill entered parliament in October 2010, the Coalition Government's localism agenda and efficiency drive looked set to radically transform policing in the UK. Twelve months on and locally elected Police and Crime Commissioners and the new National Crime Agency still provoke acrimonious debate across the 43 Police Forces. Sir Hugh Orde, President of ACPO, has been at the heart of this discussion, the outcome of which will have a dramatic impact on the future shape of the UK's Police Service. Intellect is delighted to announce its JESICA reception with Sir Hugh Orde providing the keynote speech.
