Taking place at the stunning Fountain Room on Wednesday 07 December 2011, the theme for this year's event is 'a Venetian masquerade ball'.

Monies raised on the night will be donated to our chosen charity, the Willow Foundation.

We're very proud to be celebrating the 10th anniversary of Intellect's charity ball and this year's event will surpass anything that we have done in previous years.

From the moment you arrive you will be transported to the amazing city of Venice - land of the waterways, gondolas, bellinis and of course carnevale.

This year's charity
This year's chosen charity is the Willow Foundation, established in 1999 by Arsenal legend Bob Wilson and his wife Megs in memory of their daughter, Anna.  The Willow Foundation is the only national charity that provides psychological and emotional support for seriously ill 16 to 40 year olds through the provision of special day experiences.

Special days
Special days aim to give seriously ill 16 to 40 year olds a break from the stress and difficult realities of diagnosis and treatment. They offer the chance to spend quality time with family and friends doing something they will all enjoy and creating precious memories.
Some of the most popular special day requests to date have included West End shows and pop concerts; tickets to sporting events such as Premiership football and international rugby; trips to the country and city breaks; days at health spas; driving experiences and family days out to top UK attractions.

Every special day aims to provide beneficiaries and their loved ones with a break from the realities of their diagnosis and treatment.  At a time of uncertainty, spending quality time with family and friends can help restore a sense of normality, boost confidence and create precious memories for the future.

To date, Willow has provided more than 8,000 special days for seriously ill young people.

The Intellect charity ball has raised in excess of £400,000 since its launch event in 2000.  Charities that have benefitted from generous donations and monies raised include Barnardo's, Leukaemia Research, The Starlight Children's Foundation, The Treehouse Trust, Action for Children and most recently SpecialEffect.
