Offshore Futures Report
Preparing for Global Sourcing

On Wednesday 29 October, Intellect’s Outsourcing and Offshore Group launched its 'Offshore Futures Report', an insightful document highlighting the future trends within the offshoring industry. The paper was authored by Paul Morrison, Director, Alsbridge, and was edited by Hilary Robertson, BPO Strategy Director, Steria.

The paper is based on the results of Intellect’s Offshore Futures Survey, which was launched in May 2008. The survey was aimed at professionals and experts involved in offshoring and was influential in shaping the report. The survey included a framework of 43 potential trends, positioned as statements. Respondents were asked to rate the likelihood of each trend occurring within the next five or so years. The range of suggested trends was deliberately broad. It covered concepts raised in current debates, and others generated by the Offshoring and Outsourcing Group; it included some trends that could be seen as mutually exclusive, and others that could be viewed as complementary. The framework was constructed to be as flexible as possible, allowing the survey respondent to individually score the future significance of each trend. Read about the trends included in the survey.
