Government ICT Strategy
An overview of the strategy, its implications and the opportunities and challenges Wednesday 01 June 2011, BIS Conference Centre
|
The government ICT strategy, published in March 2011, marks a milestone in the government's reform agenda. It aims to deliver better public services for less cost, and create a level playing field for small and large ICT suppliers to government. Both government and industry acknowledges that to turn the strategy into reality will require commitment from both government and industry to continue to work closely together with a shared agenda.
Among some of the key announcements included in the strategy are, consolidation of government data centres, moving to cloud computing, and implementing a government applications store; plans for a streamlined procurement process that focuses on outcomes; a commitment to improve SME participation in the market. This event was designed to give you a detailed insight into the strategy, its implications on government departments, and the opportunities and challenges it creates for the technology industry.
