SIB Board Member - Larry Stone

President, Group Public & Government Affairs, BT

Larry Stone is President, Group Public & Government Affairs responsible for external relations for the group globally. He is also responsible for CSR and sustainability in BT Group. Larry sits on the BT Board CSR Committee and is a member of BT's Senior Management Team.

He was Group Company Secretary for the previous six years, looking after board matters and corporate governance. He had responsibility for retail shareholder relations, employee share schemes, group risk management, insurance programmes, group-wide security, and corporate policies on quality, data privacy and ethics.

Larry was a Trustee of the BT Pension Scheme from 2002-8, and a member of the Faculty of ifsProshare (financial education charity), the UK Social Investment Fund Advisory Board and the London Stock Exchange Primary Markets Group.

Larry is on the Board of the Europe-America Business Council (EABC) and on the Advisory Board of the European Policy Centre (EPC). He is Honorary Colonel of 81 Signal Squadron (Volunteers) in the British Territorial Army and is a Foundation Board Member of Kingston Grammar School.

He was previously responsible for BT's External and Media Affairs in Asia and for the European Union. Prior to that, he was at Cellnet (now O2 UK), during the launch of mass cellular mobile products.

Larry has degrees in Law and in Communications Policy. He is a member of the Japan Society in the UK.
