Our members are at the heart of innovation and creating positive changes across the economy.
“These are clearly challenging times but I am confident that the technology sector will play a major role in driving productivity and growth to ensure economic success and the creation of jobs and wealth. I am particularly looking forward to building on the work the Intellect team has done to ensure we have people with the right skills for this exciting industry.
"Intellect has a strong SME community and I will be ensuring that their voice is heard in government and that the great success stories from this community are fully recognised.”
Intellect President David Callaghan said: "We are delighted that Julian is taking on the role of director general. The UK technology sector has never been so important to the health of the country's economy than it is right now. As the voice of that sector, Intellect needs to stand up and be counted and I believe Julian will certainly help us do that. He has a real passion for technology and is a long standing champion of the benefits it brings to business and society. There were a lot of exceptional candidates for this role but I speak for everybody at Intellect when I say we are excited about working with Julian and getting behind him to champion innovation and technology in the UK."
On the appointment of his successor John Higgins said: “I am absolutely delighted with Julian’s appointment. I have enjoyed working with him immensely and have every confidence that Intellect will be in great hands. I wish him every success.”
