Keith’s 30 plus years of business expertise keep SunGard Availability Services’ European and Indian operations at the top its field. He is responsible for day-to-day profit and loss accounts and all aspects of sales, marketing, delivery and development, for a business that turns over in excess of $400m and employs over 500 people. The role includes overseeing over 3,000 customers across Europe and India, and his vision as managing director is to drive the company towards its goal of being the first choice provider of Information Availability solutions.
Keith joined SunGard in November 2001 when it acquired Comdisco. Prior to that, he worked for Failsafe Roc Ltd., Istel and Rover Cars – progressing from the IT department to operations manager then moving into various commercial and product management roles.
Initially working as Business Development Director in the UK for FailSafe ROC, Keith has held roles in Marketing, Business Development and Service Delivery before becoming MD for Comdisco’s UK and European operations. During this time Keith managed the expansion of the business from a single line in only two locations, to multiple platforms and services including high availability and Web services across almost thirty facilities throughout Europe and India.
He believes success and growth in any business stems from its two most important assets, namely staff and customers. Keith is widely quoted on Information Availability matters in business, national and trade press, such as the Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal Europe, Computing and IT Week. He has also appeared on the BBC’s Business Breakfast, Sky News and Meridian TV as well as BBC Radio 4’s The Bottom Line. He is a Chartered Director and is a co-opted member of the CBI South East Council.
Keith is 52 and lives in Hampshire with his wife Hilary. He has two grown up children and three grandsons and has also recently adopted twins from Guatemala. He is an avid Manchester United fan and a follower of music, especially of The WHO, which in his opinion, is the greatest Rock Band in the world!
