State of the Sector | President's Report 2010
State of the UK Technology Sector
In last year's report we wrote that businesses faced an uncertain year. Although 2010 has shown some positive stories of growth the mood has not changed that much.
This year’s President’s Report provides an update on the state of the technology sector in the UK.
The first section examines the major forces at work and provides a commentary from our own staff on how member companies and their markets are responding.
In the second section leading industry analysts provide a current and future view of each of Intellect’s sub-sectors. The final section sets out how our work will help members survive and prosper in these conditions. What does the report aim to do? It will:
- examine the five major forces affecting our industry
- demonstrate how members and the markets are responding to the current climate
- highlight the sub-sectors future opportunities with the appropriate investment
- provide an overview of the state of the main sectors which make up the technology industry in 2010

Quotes
"Despite the obvious challenges facing UK businesses in general and the IT sector in particular, I find it hard to be too downbeat about the economy as we’ve just enjoyed two of the best sales months in our 10 year history." Guy Mucklow, Managing Director, Postcode Anywhere
