About the Digital Leadership Forum

Intellect has set up a series of Board sponsor groups to receive briefings from staff, member group leaders and members to enable the Board to understand:

  • members' priorities and goals
  • the external landscape; e.g national/international policy developments, key stakeholders, market developments
  • Intellect's approach and plans to meet these goals

The sponsor group  then:

  • communicates these views to the board (some of each board meeting devoted to say two or three of the groups)
  • take board views back to members, groups & staff
  • advise DG or other director/spokesperson.

To this end Intellect has set up the Digital Leadership Forum which is a broad-based group representing the UK leadership of the digital infrastructure industry. It  seeks to influence Government decision makers on a current set of issues of strategic importance to the digital infrastructure industry. It  provides  the Board sponsor groups  with expert strategic advice on digital infrastructure matters of interest to the broader membership.

Membership is by invitation only.

The focus of the Digital Leadership Forum

The Digital Leadership Forum has a clear, definable and high-level output  from its meetings. The Board sponsor groups  use this output to deliver strategic direction on digital infrastructure matters of Board interest.

It  identifies and agrees a set of strategic outcomes (eg. public policy outcomes relating to the industry) and undertakes high level activities (round table discussions, Ministerial meetings , press briefings and events) aimed at influencing  public policy and perceptions . The briefing document produced at the last meeting held on the 18 March 2011 is available.
