UK Space Conference 2011 Programme

Monday 04 - Tuesday 05 July 2011, University of Warwick, Coventry, CV4 7AL

The conference was opened by the Minister for Universities and Science, David Willetts MP who was joined by senior colleagues from the European Space Agency, the European Commission and UK industry to launch the conference and set the scene for "The New Space Economy".

The focus was on economic growth delivered through space systems and space services, outlining how government, the European institutions and industry can work together to deliver jobs, economic recovery and benefits to citizens.

The conference included plenary and parallel sessions, a trade exhibition, the conference dinner and the Sir Arthur Clarke Awards. The first day will also host Space Tech 2011 – the space technology symposium organised by STFC Innovations for ESA Technology Transfer Network - and the second day will host the education conference organised by ESERO-UK. An outreach programme for local schools will be run over both days.
