Book NOW!UK Space Conference Speaker: David Williams Day 1: UK Space Agency UpdateDavid Williams Chief Executive UK Space Agency Dr David Williams leads the UK Space Agency, which is responsible for all strategic decisions on the UK civil space programme and provides a clear, single voice for UK space ambitions. The UK Space Agency was launched in shadow form on 1 April 2010, replacing the British National Space Centre (BNSC), where David served as Director General from May 2006. On 1 April 2011, the Agency was established as a full executive agency of the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills. In taking up his post in May 2006, David also became Head of the UK Delegation to the European Space Agency (ESA) and in June 2010 he was elected to serve as Chairman to ESA Council. Before his appointment as Director General of BNSC, David Williams spent 10 years as Head of Strategy and International Relations with Eumetsat. His earlier experience includes previous work in the UK with the BNSC, the Natural Environment Research Council, industry and academia.
