Business Professional Certificate | Why it matters to you
The Business Professional Certificate has been set up by Intellect, the UK trade association for the IT, telecoms and electronics industries, to identify companies with professional and thorough business processes in place.
If you’re looking for a supplier it makes sense to choose one that you know will use good systems and reliable processes, and that is committed to continual improvement. The Business Professional Certificate is your guarantee of a quality supplier to work with.
More informationThe Intellect Business Professional Certificate was created by business people who are already creating and sharing best practice and who are motivated to improve standards and ultimately the reputation of the industry. It is an assurance of quality to clients like you, who want to work with the best suppliers available.
The scheme covers ten components: Professional Indemnity, Information Security Policy, Business Continuity, Project Management, Proposal Review, Customer Care, Corporate and Social Responsibility, Human Resources, Customer References and optional Escrow.
Intellect’s Business Professional Certificate is recognised by the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills, and is quickly becoming an identified mark of quality.
How do suppliers gain certification?
BPC certified companies have undergone a rigorous process that covers their entire business operations. Each company must provide evidence of their procedures in each of ten performance areas: Professional Indemnity, Information Security Policy, Business Continuity, Project Management, Proposal Review, Customer Care, Corporate and Social Responsibility, Human Resources, Customer References and Optional Escrow, and in a large number of performance criteria under each of these areas.
How do I check credentials?
certified companies will display the Intellect Business Professional Certificate on their websites and marketing material. You can also check on our site, where we have a list of all companies who have achieved certification. Participation is recognised in two stages: ‘Working towards recognition’ and ‘Achieved recognition’.
If you believe someone is claiming to have certification but doesn’t appear on our site, please let us know.
